Ever since 2019, the Nintendo Switch has been on a tear in terms of being the top-selling console in the markets, especially in the United States. And now, with the June NPD data, we know that this is continuing, though with a bit of a twist.
According to the latest NPD data, the Nintendo Switch was the top unit-seller among hardware in the US, BUT…in terms of dollar sales, the Xbox Series X/S won out. Though that was obviously because those systems are more expensive than the Switch. And again, when talking about actual UNIT sales, the Nintendo platform came out on top, continuing its streak from 2019.
And with that, that means the Switch was the best-selling platform in the first half of 2021.
