Persona Series Prepares to Celebrate its 25th Year Anniversary

By William "Shadowz" KokJuly 13, 2021

This coming September, ATLUS and SEGA will be preparing to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Persona series.

As of right now, ATLUS Japan has set up a site to commemorate the upcoming anniversary. Course this is not just a simple celebration. ATLUS has teased on the site multiple announcements concerning the Persona series starting from September to the Fall of next year. This has left a lot of speculation and has gotten fans very excited.

The most likely guess is the next entry of Persona. Namely the presumed title of Persona 6. As of right now, it seems to be the likely case as on the official recruitment page from ATLUS Japan. In an interview with ATLUS Director Naoto Hiraoka, he said that the dream of making Persona 6 cannot be achieved with the current staff. When making Persona 4, they felt the pressure that they had to surpass Persona 3. This was also the same when developing Persona 5 to surpass Persona 4. He hopes that with the recruitment of talented new staff, they are able to make Persona 6 the game that it can be and perhaps surpass Persona 5. Seems that we don’t have to wait too long to hear details of this next entry.

Asides from the next entry there are also the possible spin-off games and fan-requested remakes. We did receive two fighting games that showcased the cast of bothPersona 3 & 4 with Persona 4 Arena  & Ultimax. Maybe we can get a fighting game with the Persona 5 cast? Will we get something else like Persona Q? Will we see a possible remake of prior titles, like the favorite Persona 3? There are just so many questions and possibilities, it is hard not to get excited. We just passed the 15 anniversary of Persona 3. Would you like to see this entry be revitalized for the current age? I know I would.

Either way, this coming Fall will be very busy for Persona fans. Ready those social links and that wild card. Seems that the Persona hype train is about to begin.
