It seems to be a busy day in the games industry today with Nintendo revealing a new Switch model and Xbox coming out from left field by collaborating with iconic 90’s R&B group All-4-One in a bizarre promotion for Xbox All Access. Sony has also announced that they’ll be hosting a new State of Play this Thursday (July 8).

The 30-minute presentation will feature 9-minutes of gameplay in Deathloop’s Blackreef Island. Initially slated to release in 2020, then further delayed to May of this year, and finally announced for a September 2021 release, Deathloop is the newest project by Arkane Studios who have slowly built up a solid reputation with immersive sim fans and game players as a whole due to their fantastic titles in the Dishonored franchise and the underappreciated Prey reboot.
Other titles that’ll be showcased in this month’s State of Play are to be seen as Sony’s official release only states that there will be “updates on some exciting indie and third-party titles,” and further confirmation that certain titles and products will not be featured which include God of War, Horizon Forbidden West, and the next generation of Playstation VR.
