We’re less than a week away from the release of Guilty Gear Strive, and I’m sure many of you are ready to upload tons of gameplay footage. But hold on just a second, as Arc System Works has just made a chance to its video policy.
You’re going to want to know what these changes mean for you. Check out the tweet below for the explained details. However, I’ll break it down for you afterward.

Let’s address the Online Posting changes first. Flat out, you’re not allowed to upload any gameplay footage without adding your own commentary to it. Meaning, you can’t upload any gameplay footage that comes straight from the game. This is strictly for uploading content.
As for Posting before launch, this should be self-explanatory. Unless you have permission from Arc System Works to play the game before the official release, you ARE NOT allowed to stream the game or upload content.
This has changed; as far as I am aware, Arc System Works didn’t have an issue with this before. But now they’ve gone the way of Atlus and Nintendo. Content creators, pay attention to this.
Monetization hasn’t changed. You’re still able to stream on Twitch or YouTube and monetize your content. However, as spelled out in No Commercialization, you are not allowed to take any content from any Arc Systems games and charge for it. This means that modders won’t be able to sell mods as they would be based on our Arc System Works’ properties. Nor can people who love reselling tournament gameplay videos – don’t laugh, the hustle is strong even with YouTube being as large as it is.
And finally, Inappropriate Content, and this is a fantastic change. This means you can’t create anything that would be deemed offensive – either video content or mods. We’ve seen a lot of these created for games such as Resident Evil over on Nexus Mods. If you’re planning on doing this, I’d advise you not to do so. Don’t unless you want Arc System Works and the law coming after you.
So there you have it. It may be a tad difficult, but everything you can and can not do is spelled out here. Again, it would be wise to follow the changes or risk your content being removed… or worse.
What do you think about these changes? Let us know in the comments!
Guilty Gear Strive releases on June 11 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
