In the latest update for Final Fantasy VII Remake, players can migrate their save data from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5. Version 1.02 adds an “Upload Save Data” option to the main menu. Just click on this, and it will allow you to transfer your saves from the PS4 version of the game to the PS5 console. You can transfer as many saves as you like, but only one at a time.
The update text reads as follows:
“From this menu, you can transfer your PlayStation 4 FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE save data to your PlayStation 5 console. Please select the data you wish to upload.
You may upload as many saves as you want, but each one must be uploaded individually.
Please note that your settings will not transfer over. Additionally, while your trophies will transfer over, you may receive multiple obtainment notifications in quick succession.”
Note that trophies will carry over, so no need to re-ace Cloud’s dance mini game for that sweet, sweet Dancing Queen trophy. As someone who got the platinum trophy for the game, I’m looking forward to that barrage of notifications.
The update comes just in time for the PlayStation 5 release of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, with added DLC featuring everyone’s favorite shuriken-throwing ninja, Yuffie. You can upgrade to Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for free if you specifically purchased the PS4 game, though the Yuffie DLC comes separately.
