Verdict
Which edition is the best bang for your dollar? Well, that honestly depends. If you’ve never played Resident Evil 7 but want to get caught up, then the Resident Evil Village & Resident Evil 7 Complete Bundle is the right call. If you’re looking to play Resident Evil Village, then the Digital Deluxe is the way to go. It’s $10 more but does provide access to all of the DLC. And while Capcom has mentioned it might sell the DLC at a later date, who’s to know for sure if they will. I know, I know… DLC is silly. Yet, all the people who’ve said that are also the same people who end up asking over and over for it after the fact. Just remove any possibility of frustration and get the Digital Deluxe version.
Fans of collector’s editions like myself may be tempted to purchase the Resident Evil Village Collector’s Edition, and I’d recommend that; if they can get it at MSRP. Don’t pay scalper prices for it on eBay; it’s not worth it. Not unless you really need that statue to have it.
Resident Evil Village & Resident Evil 7 Complete Bundle isn’t a bad deal either, but there are exceptions. You can pick up Resident Evil 7 Gold on Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC with Xbox Game Pass. So if you subscribe to that service, you can skip this version. Not so much for PlayStation or Stadia fans.
Don’t recommend: Resident Evil Village Standard Edition
Recommended: Resident Evil Village Digital Deluxe Edition
Think About It: Resident Evil Village & Resident Evil 7 Complete Bundle if you don’t have Xbox Game Pass.
