You can’t have a King of Fighters game without the spunky Yuri Sakazaki. She’s been a mainstay of the series since her introduction. Thankfully, SNK has announced that Yuki has returned yet again, along with her flashy and speedy attacks.
Ryo Sakazaki’s younger sister managed to learn deadly techniques in less than one year after joining the Kyokugenryu Dojo. As a fighting genius, Yuri has brought her personal touch to her martial art. She trains hard every day in order to be recognized by her big brother, and establish her own dojo in the future.
In her new video, Yuri is shown laying the smackdown on all newcomers with her signature moves, and of course, plenty of spunk.
With the reveal of Yuri Sakazaki, this brings the roster up to 12; Benimaru Nikaido, Meitenkun, Shun’ Ei, Chizuru Kagura, Iori Yagami, Kyo Kusanagi, Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi, K’, Leona Heidern, Mai Shiranui, and Yuri Sakazaki. I was hoping we’d get a Terry Bogard reveal, but I’m assuming SNK wants to keep us all in suspense for now. Besides, Yuki is tops in my book.

While SNK’s King of Fighters XV is scheduled for a 2021 release, SNK hasn’t announced what platforms that game will be released on as of yet. The safe money is that we’ll see this on PS5 and PC. I’d like to see it also on the Xbox Series X|S, except that is up in the air as the prior title, King of Fighters XIV, skipped the Xbox One. The question, however, is will the game make it to the PS4, or has SNK moved on?
As for the online, SNK has stated that they do play on implementing rollback-based netcode. Something similar to Tom Cannon’s GGPO, but they won’t implement GGPO directly.
