Yesterday, Capcom’s Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin received both a release date and a new trailer. The spin-off RPG to the Monster Hunter series will be released on July 9th, 2021. While the game is more of a narrative take on the series, there’s still plenty of action and more than enough for both veterans of Monster Hunter and newcomers alike.
However, the biggest news is that the game is now slated to be released for PC. This originally was not the case, but I’m happy to see that Capcom has released the booming PC gaming market. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will join Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter World Iceborne on the PC. That’s not counting Monster Hunter Rise’s announcement, which is also heading to PC sometime in 2022. The Steam page for the game currently isn’t live, nor has there been a price announced. Though I’d imagine it will be priced similarly to the Nintendo Switch version of the game.
A deluxe version of the game was announced. It will include Razewing layered armor sets and a Nergigante-inspired hairstyle for players, the Kuan Coat outfit for your Wyverian companion Ena, two new outfits for Navirou, and two sticker sets. A pre-order bonus will provide access to the Kamura Maiden outfit for Ena, and it will be available after launch.
You can’t have a new Switch game without announcing new Amiibo’s, and this game is no exception. So get ready for three new Amiibo’s of Ena, Razewing Ratha, and Tsukino. All of which will be available on July 9th, 2021, when the game launches worldwide.
