Listen up, hoop fans who own an Xbox, this is huge news! Early this morning, Xbox announced that NBA 2K21, one of the more visually impressive sports games of this generation, is headed to Xbox Game Pass.
NBA 2K21 will be available as of March 4th, 2021, this upcoming Thursday. That’s not all either, as the game will also be playable via Project xCloud. That’s right; you’ll be able to get your b-ball on while you’re not near your Xbox. As a basketball fan, this is exciting news.
With exciting improvements to its best-in-class gameplay, competitive and community online features, and deep, varied game modes, NBA 2K21 offers a one-of-a-kind immersion into all facets of NBA basketball and basketball culture on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Today, we’re excited to announce that starting on March 4, Xbox Game Pass members can enjoy NBA 2K21 on console and on the cloud with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate!
Players new to NBA 2K21 can enjoy a wide variety of new features and game modes, including MyTeam mode, MyCareer mode, and the new-look Neighborhood. Ball with friends on the court or rock your swag off it.
This also appears to be the Xbox One/Xbox One Enhanced version, and there’s no indication if NBA 2K21 will be upgradable to the next-gen version. We’ve asked Microsoft about this and will update once they respond to us.
I was actually holding out to see if this game would eventually make it to Game Pass, and it looks like my waiting paid off. That said, typically, only 1st party published games stay aren’t rotated off of Xbox Game Pass. Meaning that eventually, NBA 2K21 will also be rotated off, but it’s time to play some basketball for now.
Or, if for some reason you don’t want to play NBA 2K21 via Xbox Game Pass, you can currently purchase it for $20 – that’s a massive discount. This offer is only for the next 4 hours, so jump on it. Or enjoy it via Xbox Game Pass. I know I will.
