It was announced by the organizers of San Diego’s Comic-Con International that the event has been canceled due to the ongoing pandemic. Even with cases on the decline in the United States, organizers felt that July was still too early to hold an in-person gathering of that magnitude.
In place of the physical event, a virtual event called Comic-Con@Home will take place from July 23-25.
In hopes that the United States will return to some semblance of normalcy by the fall, event organizers are looking at tentatively holding a smaller, three-day in-person event at some point in November of this year. More information for this event will come at a later date if things look as if the event can be held.
