iPhone and iPad gamers are going to love this
Earlier today, Nvidia finally announced the news that many iOS users have been waiting on; Geforce Now, Nvidia’s cloud streaming service, is heading to iOS! Today, the company dropped a beta that allows iOS devices to access Geforce Now via the Safari browser. Bluetooth support is also enabled via the browser.
This also means that both iPhones and iPad just got access to some of the biggest names in gaming. Titles such as Destiny 2 Beyond Light, Assassin’s Creed Vahalla, and more are now playable. Play them at home, play them on the go, just be sure to play them. If you do check out the beta, you’ll need to make sure that your iPhone is running iOS 14.2 or an iPad running iPadOS 14.2.
To sweeten the deal, the iPhone has been home to several amazing controllers. One of those happens to be the Razer Kishi, which I consider to be one of the iPhone’s better gaming controllers. That, plus Geforce Now, is a recipe for some good mobile gaming, that’s for sure.
While I don’t personally own an iPad, personal reasons aside, my wife does, and I’ve… borrowed her’s to give this a spin. I’ll have a report on how Geforce Now works on the iPad in a few days.
Also, Nvidia is updating Geforce Now to work with Chrome for multiple platforms, including Linux, Mac, Android, and PC. We should see that sometime in Q1 2021.
Geforce Now is available in several tiers; Free and Founders (paid). The free their offers 1-hour gaming, which can be restarted at any time. While the founders tier is a paid subscription, currently priced at $4.99 monthly or $24.99 per 6 months, allows gamers access to RTX features and priority access to the Geforce Now servers.
If you aren’t sure about Geforce Now, give the free tier a spin and let us know what you think afterward.
