Today during the Square Enix 2020 Tokyo Game Show live stream, Square Enix announced that the remake of the original NieR title, NieR Replant will release in April 2021. The updated version of the game will see a Western released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 23rd, 2021. The title releases one day earlier, April 22nd, 2021 in Japan. So it’s nice to see that this is almost a worldwide release, unlike the release of NieR: Automata which was all over the place.

Following the massive success of NieR: Automata, Square Enix set out to re-release the original game, however, it’s much more now. Rather a simple release, NieR: Replicant is more of a remaster, with the entire battle system being revamped with the assistance of PlatinumGames. Just seeing the game in action and comparing it to the original game, which was really slow, you can really see the difference. I’m looking forward to this as I never had a chance to play the original NieR, but loved the hell out of NieR: Automata.
Get ready for me talking non-stop about NieR Replicant and no, I’m not sorry.
