Well, there we go fellow Yakuza fans! Sega just announced that Yakuza: Like a Dragon will arrive in North American for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC, on November 13th, 2020! It’s important to note that the Xbox Series X version will be available when the console is released, why the planned PS5 version will be released at a later date.
November 2020 is going to be a busy month for gamers.
Now, we already knew the game was headed to North America, as it was announced previously. We just didn’t know when, or for what platforms. Announced back in August 2019, Yakuza: Like A Dragon is a departure of sorts for the Yakuza series. Gone is the quirky but lovable 3D real-time combat, replaced with a turn-based RPG system, that many didn’t think would work well for the game. When I first heard about the game, I was on board as there’s only so much you could do with the Yakuza series in its prior state. With this new turn-based system, it opens up so many new experiences for players, as least I thought it would. And while it did, based on several reviews on the game, some just didn’t like the new changes. Of course, I’ll reserve judgment (that’s a pun btw) until I get my hands on the game.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon brings dynamic RPG gameplay to the streets of Yokohama, Japan, with an adventure that combines the intense brawls that the Yakuza series has been known for, with the strategic depths, party customization, and massive variety of skills that you’d expect from a classic RPG.
Along with the news of the release date is a brand new trailer that, well, shows you all the odd and interesting bits that you’ll partake in once Yakuza: Like A Dragon hits. Looks like fun and isn’t that what gaming should be about? Check out the trailer below.
