The Story
The sixth issue of Invasion from Planet Wrestletopia is here and it is the moment we have been waiting for since the very beginning of the series! It’s time for Rory Landell vs Manifest Destiny; however, the journey to the Sportatorium wasn’t an easy one for Rory. Despite the obstacles set up in his way, Rory makes it there which shocks and angers Drasin all the same.
The match happens but I will spare you the details of it. With this being the grand finale, I would rather you check it out for yourself! I will say that the match was entertaining and there was a moment in the middle of it that I’m sure was meant to be a bit serious but I found it hilarious all the same. When it comes to all of the characters involved at that moment, I don’t think I would have wanted it any other way!
The way everything wrapped up was also done really well! The ending to anything is always paramount and I think that this ending did the series justice. It certainly was the perfect cap off to an entertaining journey!
Final Thoughts
I usually look at the characters but outside of Rory and Manifest Destiny having their match and how everything played out, everything else is pretty much a spoiler… especially when it comes to one character. That’s why I’m just going to jump right into my Final Thoughts on the series overall.
All I can say about Invasion from Planet Wrestletopia is that this has been an amazing ride! While it may only be six issues, you could tell the amount of effort and love that went into making this series. Everything from the gritty side of professional wrestling to the humor was written and realized in a fantastic manner! Everything had that old school “carny days” feel to the business and it also took a bit from reality as it shows what can happen to a pro-wrestler if they give in to their demons as was the case with Rory.
The whole alien invasion from a wrestling planet was so over-the-top but it worked so well. Professional wrestling isn’t rocket surgery, people. More often than not, professional wrestling is filled with big, dumb, stupid stuff… like Braun Strowman flipping over an ambulance, or The Giant and Hulk Hogan battling each other with monster trucks. Heck, we’ve had people in turkey costumes hatch from giant eggs, an appearance by Robocop, and so many other facepalm moments. With things like that actually happening in reality, an invasion of alien wrestlers doesn’t really seem too far-fetched, does it?
Still, this series mixed comedy, satire, and reality and took us on a journey. A journey that I enjoyed from beginning to end. If you are a fan of professional wrestling and just want to have a great laugh while being sports entertained, this series is a must-have! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself as I’m more than sure that you won’t regret it!
