Nintendo has been on a curious roll of late of introducing major titles for the Nintendo Switch on Twitter. And they appear to have just done it again. Because not long after fans started asking for a Pikmin game on the Nintendo Switch because of the franchises upcoming anniversary, Nintendo revealed that Pikmin 3 Deluxe would indeed be coming to the Nintendo Switch on October 30th.
Here is the reveal tweet and video:
Prepare yourselves, brave explorers! Set-off for the lush planet PNF-404 when #Pikmin 3 Deluxe lands on 10/30! This version features multiple difficulty modes, new side-story missions featuring Olimar & Louie, and all the DLC from the original release. https://t.co/UbljqJUQjX pic.twitter.com/7oht5o5mZI

This particular reveal is curious for various reasons. Not the least of which is that Nintendo has stated in the past that Pikmin 4 was either in the works or “close to done” and yet they put this game out before it.
Also, in a year that has more ports than original titles (including Pikmin in this), fans might not be the most enthused about a port title versus a new Pikmin game.
And this draws into question recent rumors of a Direct of some kind happening in the next week or so. Because if there was, why reveal this on Twitter?
