We’re just one day away from Xbox’s Livestream event that takes place on July 23, 2020, which happens to be tomorrow. However, not wanting to wait until then, Xbox has released the box art for the upcoming Halo Infinite. Yes, we’re excited about an image, simply because it’s happening.
Take a look at the cover art below.
You can download the box art for yourself, in many resolutions by heading over to Halo Waypoint.
As you can see, this does draw similarities from the box art of Halo: Combat Evolved. While I don’t want to speculate that this image could also imply that Halo Infinite may have some open-world segments, it looks like it. As to why we’re saying that just look at the image. There are various environments shown in this box art, which leads us to this conclusion.
There have also been rumors of a grappling hook being integrated into the game, to help Master Chief traverse this “open-world”. The concept is intriguing, but we’ll have to wait until to find out officially what is all going to be included in Halo Infinite.

That’s not all this image gives us! If you happen to download the high-resolution graphic, you can zoom in on Master Chief’s face and see the reflection of what he’s looking at. While we can’t make out exactly who it is, it does resemble a Jiralhanae (Brute) wielding a massive hammer. As it was already hinted at, the Banished, a mercenary organization made up of the Jiralhanae will be featured in Halo Infinite.
This faction was also playable and featured in Halo Wars 2, along with the biggest baddie of them all, Atriox.
Granted, Atriox likely isn’t alive anymore, however, he likely has multiple apprentices or disciples who are following in his footsteps. One thing is for sure, that is a Banished and Master Chief is going to have this hands full.
Update: After looking at this image yet again, we can see another hint and it does appear that the grappling hook is in the game. Take a look at his left arm, as it appears t be a small grappling hook device. This hasn’t appeared on any of the previous armors.
Update 2: They really crammed a lot of stuff in this image, didn’t they? I didn’t even notice the downed Wasp on the bottom right-hand side of the image. The AV-49 Wasp is a VTOL vehicle that appeared in Halo 5: Guardians.
Halo Infinite is slated for a Holiday 2020 release window and will be released on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows 10 PCs. Needless to say, this is perhaps the biggest title that’s heading to Xbox this year and it has to be damn near perfect. Not just for the future of the Xbox branding, but also the future of Halo. Halo 5 was a letdown for many, and now everyone is looking toward Halo Infinite to course correct the series and hopefully, get back to doing what Halo does best; telling an engrossing story, fun combat gameplay and make us all believers again.
