Now owners of Samsung’s Smart TV line-up (2018-2020) can download the newly released Apple Music app. With this, you’ll be able to stream your favorite songs and music videos from the convenience of your TV. Which means no more converting your Apple Music files to play them back on your TV.
The Apple Music app is now available via the Samsung app center. To entice the experience, Samsung and Apple are also extending a free 3-month subscription for anyone who wants to try out Apple Music on their Samsung Smart TVs. Once the 3-month subscription ends, you’ll be charged $9.99 monthly, $14.99 monthly for a family plan, or $4.99 month for a student subscription (where appliable).

Our partnership with Apple has been instrumental in bringing consumers an unparalleled lineup of different entertainment options, especially as they seek out more content choices from their Smart TVs.”
Oddly enough, the app released early and I gave it a spin and it works as you’d expect it to. Music loads up quickly, as do the videos and if you have a soundbar or home audio system connected, you’ll get more enjoyment out of it.
The only downside is the videos appear to be low quality, with no way to adjust the quality. Now that may an Apple thing, I wouldn’t really know. Outside of my family all being part of the Apple ecosystem, I’m still an Android guy.
Still, having Apple Music, alongside Apple TV on your Samsung Smart TV is one step closer to having your favorite apps in one location. Well, outside of your iPhone, and iPad, Mac, Amazon Echo, Android devices, Sonos speakers, Windows-powered devices… well, I guess more of everywhere now.
