Sony Music announced today that the POLARIS EP which contains the new opening to My Hero Academia by the Japanese rock band Blue Encount is available now! The 4-track EP features the opening theme to the fourth season of the award-winning, fan favorite anime series My Hero Academia entitled “Polaris,” as well as two other original tracks and a never-before-heard live version of “Polaris” recorded exclusively for the release that showcases the talent of the buzzing “super-empathetic” rock band.
Of the track’s release, BLUE ENCOUNT say, “We never imagined the day that the music we make, just guys from little towns in Japan, would reach the ears of people in America. It’s so amazing and we’re just really excited! There is so much great music in America, but we are proud to be making music that is as good. We are currently facing some truly difficult and unpredictable times, but we hope that our music can help be some positive energy for you. Looking forward to getting to know you all better!”

Sony Music provided some background information on Blue Encount which is as follows:
Hailing from Kumamoto and now based in Tokyo, BLUE ENCOUNT is a four-piece, emotional rock band that has been creating buzz with their in-your-face, hot-blooded performances that passionately and intensely come together with the audience. They made their major debut in September 2014 with EP TIMELESS ROOKIE. First single “Motto Hikari wo,” released January 2015, obtained heavy rotation on 35 radio stations nationwide, an extraordinary feat for a newcomer. In May the same year, they released single “DAY x DAY,” the opening theme of popular anime series Gintama (Season 3), followed by their first full-length album entitled ≒ (Nearly Equal). 2016 saw the release of four singles, namely “Hajimari” in January, which became the fight song for the 94th All Japan High School Soccer Tournament, “Survivor,” the opening theme song of MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS, “Daijobu” dedicated to all BLUE ENCOUNTER fans, and “LAST HERO,” the theme song of drama THE LAST COP. The releases were followed by a single-bill show in October that year at the Budokan entitled LIVER’S BUDOKAN which turned out to be a huge success. In January 2017, they also culminated TOUR 2017 break “THE END” on a high note, which was the band’s biggest tour to date and included a show at the Makuhari Messe. Much-anticipated third album VECTOR was released March 2018. The album, which showcased their musicality even more varied and evolved, achieved #6 on Oricon’s weekly chart. National tour BLUE ENCOUNT TOUR 2018 Choice Your “” was a huge success as well. Later that year they released “FREEDOM” in November, which was selected the opening theme of the second season of TV anime series BANANA FISH, and demonstrated their novel appeal. And in 2019, the year that marks their 5th major debut anniversary and 15th anniversary as a band, they released mini album SICK(S), a spirited work of art aimed at their first hall tour entitled BLUE ENCOUNT TOUR 2019 apartment of SICK(S), which ended successfully. On September 11 they released “Bad Paradox”, the theme song of currently-running NTV Saturday Drama series Voice, and embarked on a nationwide club tour starting September 25. With their always-give-it-everything performances and their attitude to keep on conveying simple and enthusiastic messages in a stubbornly honest manner, they never cease to attract empathy.
