Previously Square Enix mentioned they might incur some shipping issues which would delay some regions from getting their hands on Final Fantasy VII Remake by the game launch day. So to combat this, they have both shipped early copies and allowed EB Games (among other locations) to sell the game now.

“Our highest priority is that all of you, including those who live in countries currently facing the biggest disruption, can play the game at launch, so we made the decision to ship the game far earlier than usual to Europe and Australia.”
As you can imagine, any and everyone who was in those regions rushed to the stores to get a copy.

Fellow teammate here at The Outerhaven, Karl Smart, who also lives in Australia has already picked up his copy and has been keen on making a point to tease us about the early release. Ironically enough, we haven’t heard from him today, so I can only imagine what he’s doing right now.
That lucky bastard.
Sadly, the early release hasn’t been all good news. It’s been nothing but bad news for anyone outside of Australia. Right now there are several streams on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook Gaming, and Mixer, all of which are possibly ruining the experience for everyone else.
While those in the Western are upset that they aren’t able to receive the same treatment and are stuck waiting until April 10, 2020, to get their hands on the game. To which I agree with. If Square Enix was keen on releasing the game early on one region, they might as well have released it elsewhere.
What this does do is introduce a problem, spoilers. Now that game is playable for a select few, there’s going to be parts of the game that might be spoiled. So unless that doesn’t bother you, you’re going to want to avoid those streams and videos around the internet. If not, well, we warned you.
Yes, it’s a bummer that most of us will have to wait, but just keep this in mind. We’re just 1 more week away from greatness. I’m sure we can wait a bit longer.
Final Fantasy VII Remake releases on April 10th, 2020, for the PlayStation 4. That is unless you’re already playing it now, you lucky people.
