Pretty much as the headline says… this year’s E3 is canceled. I guess my job here is done.
Oh, what’s that? A reason?
I see, yes… journalism and all that.
Okay… imagine a giant dartboard. There are 11 spaces on that dartboard. 10 of them say COVID-19 on them while the 11th space is a teeny tiny sliver with a font so small, you’d need a magnifying glass to read it but that sliver says “no one really cares that much about E3 these days anymore” on it.
Go ahead and throw the dart. If it misses, feel bad that you’re bad at darts and try again. When you finally get one to land, that’ll pretty much be the reason why the show was canceled.
There you go. I guarantee that this will probably be the snarkiest, yet, most entertaining news story on E3 being canceled that you’ll find on the internet.
You’re welcome.
Oh, and I might as well type the word Coronavirus to get all those extra hits in my SEO.
Journalism is fun.
** In case you missed the obvious here, there are a number of outlets claiming that E3 2020 has been canceled. And despite multiple sources confirming this, the ESA, the organization that oversees the E3 event has yet to confirm this. So until they officially come out and say “folks, it’s canceled” the event is still on. **
We’ll continue to monitor the situation and should the event be either canceled or postponed, we’ll be sure to update accordingly.
