One of the breakout series on Netflix for in 2019 was Michael B. Jordan’s ‘Raising Dion’, as both my wife and I enjoyed the show. The antics of a young child dealing with having superpowers passed on by his father who was affected by radiation via the Northern Lights. While his mother who is trying to raise him in a world that may not understand him. Sadly, just as the series had ended on a cliffhanger, we weren’t sure if the show would get a follow-up. Thankfully, it did as Netflix has reported (via Hollywood Reporter) that Raising Dion will see a second season.

There’s no word on when we can expect the second season to start, but production will start sometime this year.
As for those who didn’t see the ending, I did mention it did end on a cliffhanger. Throughout the first season, both Dion (Ja’Siah Young) and his mother (Alisha Wainwright) had been looking for their father/husband, Mark (Michael B. Jordan). Eventually, they found out that he had been killed by his best friend (by accidentally absorbing him), Pat or better known as the Crooked Man. Who was also trying to get closer to Dion so he could take his powers as well.
In the end, Pat is defeated, Mark appears briefly before fading away and all is well. Except it isn’t. While Pat loses his powers and is no longer the Crooked Man, Mark warns that those powers are energy-based and can’t be destroyed. Meanwhile, we see those very same powers move on to another person, Brayden, who was also affected by radiation at the Northern Lights. So we may see Dion going up against a younger Crooked Man in season 2.
I’m very much excited to see where this goes once the new season starts up.
