You may remember me being super frustrated with the game-breaking bug I encountered while on Kashyyyk in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. A bug that halted my progression and forced me to start a new game.
Since then, I’ve recorded a video of that bug, posted it on YouTube and now I’m getting 20 or messages a day. All of which ask me is there any way around this issue. Sadly, for now, there isn’t. However, hope isn’t lost as Respawn has finally acknowledged the bug and may have isolated the cause.
So the good news is they have a fix for it, but it won’t be released until the next patch. This could be today, tomorrow, sometime next week, you get my point. So you’ll have to decide if you either want to wait to start a new game. The bad news is that it seems they still don’t know what causes this. In their reply, it states it could be due to a slow hard drive loading the assets. Except I’m running the game off of one of the fastest SSD’s available today; a Samsung 860 EVO 2TB.
This bug also isn’t just happening on the PC version. Complaints regarding both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions have also been reported. I’d imagine Respawn is also aware of those platforms having the same issue as well.
That said, there hasn’t been any word on if this upcoming patch will also address the numerous other game-breaking bugs. All we can do is keep submitting those bugs to the EA bug report and hope for the best.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC (Origin and Steam). If you haven’t played it, but either enjoy the Star Wars universe and/or a decent action/adventure title, then this is a must-play. More so when they finally patch out all these bugs.
