Square Enix recently announced that Dragon Quest Builders 2 was coming to PC on December 10th next month. It will also be launching with all of its season pass content that is currently available for the Switch and PS4 versions.
It’s been an amazing last few years for Dragon Quest-Hero in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Dragon Quest 11 (Also on PC), 11 S on Switch, Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2 (Warriors/Musou spin-offs also on PC), the original Dragon Quest Builders, and the 3DS remakes of 7 and 8 have all released this generation in the west. DQ 11 marked the first time a mainline Dragon Quest game came to PC, with Heroes being the first from the series to arrive on the platform.
To simplify, the Builders games are like Minecraft crossed with an RPG. With the incredible fanbase and mod support Minecraft has, many people including myself thought they were a perfect fit for PC and very likely given the series newfound support. Builders 2 is based on Dragon Quest 2, but every game in the franchise is perfectly enjoyable as a standalone experience.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 is available for pre-purchase on Steam for $60. Purchasing it before January 6th will also get you tons of bonus content, such as the Ornamental Medicinal Herb recipe, the Dragon Quest Logo recipe, the Ornamental Chimaera Wing recipe , five Sigil Block Recipes for building decorative blocks with sun, stars, moon, water and soul motifs, the Legendary Line Art recipe, and Lo-Res Luminary recipes.
Switch and PS4 players can also try the latest “Jumbo Demo” which released a few weeks ago.
