At this year’s D23, Disney+ announced the next generation of Marvel TV shows with three new shows: She-Hulk, Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel. While we still don’t know much about any of the productions, we have learned who will helm those first two shows. Jessica Gao will head up She-Hulk and Jeremy Slater will take on Moon Knight.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Gao, a writer for cult hit Rick and Morty will work as head writer and develop the show for the streaming service. Gao is responsible for the infamous “Pickle Rick” episode, and even won an Emmy for it. She also wrote episodes for HBO’s Silicon Valley and executive produced a comedy pilot for ABC entitled Lazy Rich Asians.
And for those wondering why Gao, well it turns out from her Twitter that she’s been hoping to work on a project involving the super-heroine for write some time:

Moon Knight will be helmed by Jeremy Slater, who developed The Umbrella Academy for Netflix, so comic adaptations for streaming services are already in his wheelhouse. He also co-wrote the 2015 Fantastic Four and Netflix’s Death Note movie, but we won’t hold that against him. And, just like Gao, he’s also a big fan of the hero he will be adapting for the screen:

All in all, it sounds like Disney has managed to find some good fits for these shows. No word yet as to who will be writing Ms. Marvel but that announcement can’t be far away. And Marvel’s chief creative officer Kevin Feige confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter in an interview that all three heroes would take their place on the silver screen sometime after their TV show debuts, so there’s even more to look forward to.
No word yet as to when either She-Hulk or Moon Knight will premiere on Disney+.
