There’s that Bloodstained Switch patch
After months of asking and begging, the first performance patch for the Nintendo Switch version of Bloodstain: Ritual of the Night has arrived.
While the other platforms were enjoying the spiritual successor to Castlevania, Nintendo Switch owners weren’t too thrilled. For good reason as the Switch version had a rather nasty performance issue. We’re talking about constant frame rate drops, laggy controls and horrible load times. Well, those days are over as this new patch 1.03 brings many fixes. Or at least we hope so.
The Nintendo Switch Improvement update is live! We know it took a while to get this update to you and we are very appreciative of your patience.
There are four areas of improvement in version 1.03: Input Lag, Visual Quality, Crashes and Load Times.
First off, input lag has been eliminated throughout the game. You will find the controls more responsive, making the game easier to navigate and enemies easier to fight. There are still a few areas that need optimizing that will be included in update 1.04.
As mentioned, this has many several corrections, which will make Switch owners happy. However, as pointed out there is still some optimization to do and that’s troublesome. Many due to it taking nearly four months for this patch to be released. Hopefully, the time between the next patch doesn’t take nearly as long.
If you own the Switch version of the game, we’d love to know if this patch brings the game up to an acceptable level. While you’re here, check out our review of the game.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is available for the PS4, Xbox One, PC (Steam) and Switch.
