There were rumors floating around that the live-action movie based on Capcom’s Mega Man franchise had ceased production. However, Capcom released their business results from the past six months which stated that the film project is still in development. The film was announced as part of the 30th-anniversary celebration for the franchise and came along with news of the then much-anticipated Mega Man 11 video game.
When it was originally announced, Paranormal Activity 3 and 4’s writers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman were announced as the film’s writers. No official title for the film had been (and still hasn’t been) set but the tentative title of “MEGA MAN” was given. 20th Century Fox and Chermin Entertainment are developing the film.
