Get ready to get them badges
Here we go folks, the official dates for PAX East 2020 have been announced, February 27 – March 1, 2020. Yep, that’s really early isn’t it?
While PAX East typically happens during the early months of the year, this time around this is the earliest the event has been hosted. Looking back at all of the previous dates, PAX East 2015 was the first time the event was hosted in early March. PAX East 2020 has this beat by an entire week. It also happens on a February that also happens to have a leap day.
This also means that there’s a month difference from when PAX South 2020 ends and PAX East 2020 starts up.
So what does this mean for you? For starters, since PAX East is hosted in Boston, MA, it’s going to be cold. While many of us tend to enjoy it when the event is closer to the Springtime, it won’t be happening this time. Expect lots of cold weather and possibly some snow, if we get any next year. With the whole global warming thing and the such.
When can we expect tickets to go on sale? Last year the badges went on sale as of November 7th, 2018, while the year before that they went on sale on November 9th, 2017. So there’s a good chance we’ll see them go sale around the same time this year. When they do go up so sale, be sure to snag them. Especially the 4-day badges, as they tend to sell out quickly.
PAX East is the biggest gaming convention on the East Coast. That’s 4-days of video games, tabletop and card gaming, interesting panels, stuff to buy, people to hang out and other fun stuff. It’s always my go-to convention of any year, and next year will be no different.
If you can’t wait for the next PAX event, PAX Unplugged is this December 6 – 8, 2019. Maybe we’ll see you there.
