It’s hard to argue Jurassic Park‘s place in movie history, and why the awe it inspires keeps studios making more movies for the franchise. No matter how you feel about the new Jurassic World movies, there’s one thing they’ve been sorely missing: the original trio. Now, Jurassic World 3 is planning to feature all three stars from Jurassic Park.
Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum (who played Ellie Sattler, Alan Grant, and Ian Malcom, respectively) will be coming back in the roles they originated. The announcement was made at a fan screening tonight of Battle at Big Rock, an eight-minute short film by Colin Trevorrow, the director of the upcoming film. The stars of the previous two installments, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, will also star in the film.
Little is known about the plot of the third film, other than it will likely deal with the dinosaurs leaving the island and making their way towards human civilization. The screenplay is written by Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael, who wrote the script for Pacific Rim: Uprising. Still, it is likely that in inclusion of these three legends will help stir up some hype and, the studio hopes, get people to buy tickets to see it.
