Every since the Epic Games Store was a thing, people have asked if upcoming games would be available for pre-order. With the answer being resounding no. However, that won’t hold true for Borderlands 3 as 2K Games has confirmed that preloading for the eagerly awaited follow-up is a go.
According to the info they went over, Borderlands 3 will be available for pre-load a full 48 hours ahead of the release. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue, however, the release windows for the game are pretty odd. You’ll see what I mean, below.
Global release time for the PC version of Borderlands 3.
- September 12, 2019 – 16:00 PDT
- September 12, 2019 – 19:00 EDT
- September 12, 2019 – 20:00 BRT
- September 13, 2019 – 00:00 BST
- September 13, 2019 – 01:00 CEST
- September 13, 2019 – 01:00 SAST
- September 13, 2019 – 02:00 MSK
- September 13, 2019 – 07:00 SGT
- September 13, 2019 – 08:00 JST
- September 13, 2019 – 09:00 AEST
- September 13, 2019 – 11:00 NZST
So, if the game releases on September 12, at 19:00 EDT or 7 PM ET, that means the pre-load will be available on September 10th at 7 PM ET. Am I the only one that finds this a bit weird with the preloading being staggered like this? Still, it will be nice to get a jump on downloading the game. Especially since everyone (or just about) will be downloading it and clogging up those pipes.
By now you already know what platform I’ll be playing on, but I’d love to know where you’ll be at as well. Let us know in comments below.
