D23 has already produced a lot of big announcements so far, and then during the Disney Studios film panel today, they dropped even more (because of course they did…). Anyway, one of the biggest things was that they showed off new footage of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. And they dropped a poster online that you can see below.
While the sizzle reel itself hasn’t (and likely won’t) been released online, descriptions of it are very promising. Including grand battle sequences, impending doom, new characters (including an “old friend” of Poe Dameron) and in a shock to the system, Rey apparently embracing the Dark Side, getting a black robe, and a dual-ended red Lightsaber!
Oh yeah, it’s on. And The Rise of Skywalker has to do well because The Last Jedi is easily the most divisive film in the Star Wars saga. We’ll see how it does on December 20th.
