Taito’s upcoming sequel to both the Arcade and console versions of The Ninja Warriors, The Ninja Saviors, now has a Western release date.
Recently released for the PS4 and Switch in Japan, many of us were wondering if and when we’d see the title released in the states. Thankfully, Taito reached to us today and let us know that we wouldn’t have to wonder anymore. As of October 15, 2019, The Ninja Saviors – Return of the Warriors will be released for the PS4 and Switch in North America. Folks in Europe will see an earlier release of August 30, 2019.
Originally slated for a worldwide release, the Western release ran into a couple of issues. However, due to the delay, Taito has tossed in a few extra goodies for the physical release. More on those at a later date.
I’m also glad to see that the original The Ninja Warriors developers have worked on the sequel. In addition, The Ninja Saviors – Return of the Warriors allows for 2-player co-op, improvided audio and visuals, an online ranking system and even a soundtrack by ZUNTATA. Who hasn’t heard of the fantastic tunes from this band? Daddy Mulk, that as my jam… hell, it still is.
I loved the original game in the arcades when I was a child, and I’ve played it many times via emulation. For Taito to go and release a sequel all these years later, well I’m loving it. Sure, I know this is available now in Japan and I can grab it. I’ve been holding off for the Western announcement. Now that we have it, I’m definitely picking it up.
