After nearly 10 years of operation, Naughty Dog announced that they will be shutting down servers for Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, and The Last of Us on PlayStation 3. With Sony about to enter the PlayStation 5 era and with PlayStation 3’s production ceased globally, it’s no surprise that developers are beginning to end services on last-gen hardware.
However, Naughty Dog isn’t going to let these titles fade away into the sunset quietly. They announced that starting now and until the servers come down, all multiplayer DLC on all three titles will be completely free for PlayStation 3 owners. If your system is still hooked up and you want to take that stroll down memory lane without any cash commitment, now is the time to do it!
The servers are scheduled to go offline on September 3 at 5 PM PDT / 8 PM EST.
Farewell to a trifecta of amazing titles!
