While fans are enjoying Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5, the original game that started it all will be heading to the Nintendo Switch! The announcement came via Capcom’s official Twitter account where they stated that the original Devil May Cry will be heading to the Switch this summer. Despite a seasonal time frame, there is no official date given for the release. We can also assume that this will be a Nintendo Switch port of the HD Collection version which came out last year.
The original Devil May Cry released on PlayStation 2 in 2001. A collection of the first three games was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012 and again as an HD Collection on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC back in March of last year.
Given the release and re-release of the first three games as a bundle, it’s a rather curious move as to why just the original is coming to Switch rather than the entire collection.
