We’re about a week and some days away left until Bethesda’s Rage 2 releases, the company has announced that the game has gone gold! For those looking forward to a kickass single player campaign with lots of stuff to do. Well, this could be the game you’re looking for – if you like first-person shooters. Who me? Oh, I adore first person shooters, so I’m already down.
We also finally got a confirmed resolution for the base PS4, Xbox One, as well as the upgraded models. Leading the pack with the PS4 Pro and Xbox One at 1080p 60FPS, with the PS4 at 1080p 30FPS and the Xbox One at 900p 30FPS
For those who might be bummed that both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One are stuck at 1080p. Remember that it’s 1080p at a solid (hopefully) 60FPS, and I’ll take that over 4K 30FPS any day. It’s the best compromise of both resolution and framerate and I appreciate that this was realized. Especially for a title such as this. While I realize some people aren’t going to be happy with this, especially since they picked up the mid-gen upgrades due to promises of playing games at higher resolutions and frame rates. We’ve seen in the past that this hasn’t worked out too well.
As for the PC, well, the sky is the limit. Whatever resolution you want as long as you have the hardware for it. Plus, I’m happy to see that not only did Ultra-wide support (21:9) make it into the game, but so did Super Ultra-Wide (32:9). Thank you, because that’s freaking amazing and I can’t wait to see that in action.
Speaking of PC specs, you can see the minimum and recommended specs below. The recommended specs aren’t really that demanding, though I’m sure this is for 1080p 60FPS. For those wanting to run the game at 1440p or even 4K, I’m going to assume that the requirements are going to be a bit higher in the GPU department. Mainly either a GTX 1080 Ti, RTX 2080, Radeon VII or a Vega 64.

I still can’t get over how much of a departure Rage 2 is, compared to the first game in the series. It’s colorful, faster paced, more stuff is happening on screen and more than anything, it has a personality. The first game, eh, was basically a tech demo for the id Tech 5 engine. Now that Avalanche with some assistance from ID Software is helming Rage 2, I can’t wait to see how this all turned out.
I can’t wait to get my hands on Rage 2, when it releases this May 14, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
