As been the norm for the past couple of years, Blizzard has released an expansion pack for Hearthstone and then shortly after, a solo player adventure. This time around, the wait has been much longer but it’s coming to an end as Blizzard announced that the Hearthstone: Rise of Shadows solo player adventure is set to launch on May 9.
Blizzard Entertainment’s Dave Kosak issued the following statement on the upcoming content:
Glad to hear you’re interested in the new single player campaign! We wanted to give everyone a few weeks after the expansion before talking about it more, but stick around, here’s the plan:
Next week on Thursday May 9th we’ll post a video where Mission Designer Giovanni Scarpati will walk you through all the stuff to come. We’ll also be announcing the launch date (don’t worry – it’s soon!). There’s a LOT to talk about, we’re pretty fired up about it. Stay tuned for more!
Unlike the past solo adventures, this will work similarly to the content found in earlier expansions such as Curse of Naxxramas and Blackrock Mountain. There will be wings you need to unlock with 700 in-game gold or you can purchase the entire adventure for real-life money. Each wing will unlock each week with the first wing being free. You will get up to 15 card packs as a total reward for going through adventure mode.
