We all know the agony of picking up a game, day one at that, and it turns out to be a turd or something you just don’t enjoy. Currently, that means that you either try to return the game which usually results in you getting back less than what you paid for or nothing at all. It stinks, it really does. Well, looks like Gamestop wants to try and help stem that agony with a new program called “Guaranteed to Love it”.
This new program will be offered on select games and will basically let you return the game within 48 hours. Doing so will return the entire price of the game as store credit. Now, I’d rather have my money back but this isn’t too back either. At least it’s not getting back less than what you paid for.
This will be offered with Days Gone, which releases for the PlayStation 4 on April 26, 2019. And no, it doesn’t mean the game is bad. It just happens to be the first game that Gamestop is “testing” this with. Though if you ask me, Fallout 76 would have been the better game.
News: GameStop to Launch "Guaranteed to Love it" program. If you return the game within 48 hours of the game's launch you get your money back in the form of Trade-in Credit. First game is Days Gone. If you hate it, bring it back with 48 hours and get $59.99 in trade-in credit. pic.twitter.com/kLMBpsDz7O

The downside to this is that Gamestop isn’t really in great shape as it is. They’re bleeding money, thanks to more and more gamers buying their games digitally. Which isn’t really helping their bottom line. So with this program, I can see the merit, yet I can also see people exploiting this somehow. Some may think 48 hours isn’t enough time, for but some it’s an eternity. You can beat a game, record some footage, stream the game and then return it in that time frame. Which is something I’m afraid that could definitely happen here. Thankfully, this offer is for specific games or things could really get out of hand.
I wonder if this will end well for Gamestop by offering this.
