YES!
PC gamers have waited oh so long for this day to come, but it’s finally here. Halo: The Master Chief Collection is headed to the PC! Get hyped fellow PC brethren, we made it.
Rumors of this actually happening started some time ago. But wasn’t until last week when things started getting interesting. With today being the kicker, as MS employees were encouraged to tease the game before the actual reveal. According to to343 Industries, bringing Halo: The Master Chief Collection to the PC was a huge undertaking. As such, they enlisted some help from both Splash Damage and Ruffian. Many of you might be familiar with Splash Damage’s work from Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (loved this), Gears of War: Ultimate Edition and Gears of War 4 for the PC. While Ruffian is an underhead name (at least to me) until today.
Unlike the Xbox One release of the title, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will make it to the PC in parts. This way the teams can ensure that each title is the very best they can be. And to avoid the mess that happened when the title originally released on the Xbox One. It wasn’t pretty.
Halo: Reach, one of my favorite Halo titles is also making its way to the PC. Which will also be released in two parts. The first will be the multiplayer portion, as a free title. While the campaign and Firefight will be priced separately. Or, if you’re an Xbox Game Pass member (why aren’t you?) then you get it as part of the subscription. Halo: Reach will be the first game out of the entire series available on PC first. Get ready for some 4K Master Chief loving gaming, with a KBM, and Ultrawide monitor support. I’m completely losing my mind here.
The game will also be available on both the Windows Store and Steam. Something about competition being able to choose where you want to buy your games. Steam will require an Xbox Live account, so there’s that. While there’s no mention about cross-play, somehow I’m sure that’s in. Especially with Killer Instinct having cross-play between Steam, Xbox One, and Windows 10. Fingers crossed!
Also, with the game coming to Steam, it could be made playable via Steam Proton. Halo on Linux, anyone?
Thanks. We took a ton of feedback from the fans and the community on this and we appreciate people's patience (even when some of the tweets weren't so patient :-)). Giving PC gamers choice with where they can buy was a big part of this for us. https://t.co/bFuC9IBBkw

I believe that is a shot fired, from Master Chief’s pistol.
We still don’t know when Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be available on the PC or when we’ll see Reach. Now we have confirmation that both are coming. It’s no longer and if, anymore. To think I held out this long, as I wanted for this to bless the PC has to tell you something. Damn it’s been a long time coming, but we won’t have to wait much longer.
