While the Mortal Kombat 11 story trailer was released earlier, it wasn’t the only piece of content that was released today. Sometime later, a live stream aired that gave us a look at both Kano and Cassie Cage.
Yes, Cassie Cage, the lovely and badass daughter of Sonya Blade and everyone’s favorite boy toy, Johnny Cage. A character that made her original debut back in the 2015 Mortal Kombat X. She’s back and will stand alongside both her parents, against the first against Kronika and her alliance.
Looking at the gameplay that was shown off, she looks to be just as deadly as she was in MKX. She also has several new abilities, including a drone that she compliments her playstyle. She’s even able to fire off projectiles off of it, that ricochet into her opponent. Not to mention she has two guns, which I think is a bit unfair. We also got word that Cassie also got a new voice actor, with Erica Lindbeck replacing Ashly Burch.
She wasn’t the only character shown, as Kano was also given some playtime. Of which I’m sure this is the first time we’ve seen Kano in action as well. More of a brawler, fast and does a hefty amount of damage. He’s quite impressive, including a rather nasty command grab, which makes him deadly when he’s close up. Quite spry for someone who’s in his 50’s, don’t you think?
Check out the live stream footage below to see how dangerous both of these fighters are.
Mortal Kombat 11 releases on April 23, 2019, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. It will be powered by a modified Unreal Engine 3, and not Unreal Engine 4 as previously thought.
