If owning Final Fantasy VII on PlayStation, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android just wasn’t enough options for you, Square Enix has you covered by announcing that the classic title is coming to Xbox One! The game is set to launch on the console in March but players have the option to pre-order it before it releases.
If you’ve played the PC version or any of the console re-releases after the PC version, you’re not missing out on anything new. Graphics for the character models are upscaled to be HD, there’s the new speed up ability, the option to turn off random encounters, and refill your HP/Limit Gauge bars with a simple command. In other words, everything the PC version of the game contained.
The game will retail for $15.99.
It should also be noted that the game is also slated for the Nintendo Switch in the same month. The Microsoft store currently has conflicting release dates of March 25 and March 26. Maybe someone should equip their web content managers with some Support Materia to make sure things like that get fixed.
Just to be clear, this is NOT the Final Fantasy VII remake announced a few years ago. Internet pundits have already determined that the remake will never release and will be nothing more than vaporware… despite the fact that Testuya Nomura stated that it would get Square’s full attention this year. Who would you rather believe? Final Fantasy VII’s original producer or a handful of angry anonymous internet keyboard warriors?
Now all we need is Final Fantasy VII on Alexa and we’ll be all set!
