During the recent EVO 2019 main stage game announcement stream, we not only found out about the nine games that made the cut. We also found out that SNK’s reboot of Samurai Shodown has made the cut on the roster. But that’s not all! We also finally got word when we can expect the title to be released.
Early Summer 2019, with a worldwide simultaneous launch. It’s safe to say that Samsho is back and I don’t know about you, but I really missed this game. Outside of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, this was one of my first fighting games. I remember playing this for hours on end at the arcade. Then pick up a copy when it was released on both the Sega CD and Panasonic 3DO.
Now powered by Unreal Engine 4, this game looks amazing so far. I’m willing to bet that SNK is going to knock this game out of the park. Lastly, it looks like there’s more information regarding the game coming soon. Hopefully, it’s about the playable modes and maybe even word of a beta test. I’m definitely be looking forward to this.
When released, Samurai Shodown will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
