It wasn’t too long ago that Capcom stated that bringing several Resident Evil titles to the Switch wasn’t far-fetched. They had already received Resident Evil 7 has a Japan-only title, which was powered by a streaming service. While it wasn’t what many expected, it was a Resident Evil title on the Switch. Now Capcom is teasing an announcement of sorts for more of the series heading to the Switch.
In a tweet, Community Manager for Capcom UK, @Kat, stated that we’d hear more info regarding Nintendo Switch ports later this month. Considering that today is February 20th, there are only eight days left to drop that information. This reinforces their previous commitment to bring over several Resident Evil games to the Switch.
We'll have more details about the Switch ports at the end of Feb :) stay tuned!

Which games can we expect? As Capcom already stated, we’ll see Resident Evil, Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil 4 arriving on the Switch. Each of these titles was also previously released on Nintendo platforms. With Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil 4 previously Gamecube exclusive titles.
Now, I know you’re probably asking why not Resident Evil 7 or the recently released Resident Evil 2 Remake. Seeing how Resident Evil 7 was completely streamed off the Switch in Japan, that’s likely not happening. As for Resident Evil 2 Remake, Capcom had already stated that they have no plans to bring the title to the Switch.
Either way, with the announcement on what to expect. Fans of the series and the Switch are going to be ecstatic about being able to play on the go or via their TV/monitors. I’m all for it as well.
With just a few days to go, we’ll know more about the titles and what Capcom plans to do with them. Either way, it’s safe to assume these titles won’t be simple ports. Speaking of Resident Evil 2, be sure to check out our review here and the review of the Resident Evil 2: The Ghost Survivors here.
