Square Enix filed for three brand-new trademarks in the U.S. and Canada which raised some eyebrows in the gaming community. They filed a trademark for Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy Adventure in the U.S. and U.K. as well as a trademark for Parasite Eve in just the U.K.
Secret of Mana was recently remade and released on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC last year. Another filing could hint at an upcoming project or another re-release of the title on other platforms. There is some speculation that Square Enix could also be working on bringing the Seiken Densetsu Collection to the West as it previously launched in Japan only.
As for Parasite Eve, this trademark filing follows a November 2018 filing in Europe. Fans were hoping to see Parasite Eve released in the U.K; however, nothing came of it. This could mean that a release was planned but ended up getting delayed.
Of course, all of this is speculation as of now as there is no official word from Square Enix about any of the filings. Still, it’s interesting nevertheless.
