‘Birds Of Prey’ Film Gets First Teaser

By Todd BlackJanuary 28, 2019
Birds of Prey

Aquaman has helped “correct” the heading of the DC Comics film universe, and while 2019 is already set in its films, 2020 is still a bit of a work-in-progress, but not for much longer. As the official filming of ‘Birds of Prey’ (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn) has begun. And to prove this, the team (mainly Harley aka Margot Robbie) has released the first teaser showing off much of the cast, including a different look for Harley herself.

The teaser itself will likely be dissected inside and out despite it only being 20 seconds, but there is a lot to see if you pay attention. Huntress, for example, does have her crossbows. Black Canary seems to be in line more with her recent “hardcore singer” arc from the comics (including from her much-beloved solo series of recent years). Cassandra Cain has a cast on her arm that says “Gotham”, we see Ewan McGregor as Roman Sionis (the film’s villain) but not his mask…yet.

And then, there’s Harley, who has much shorter pigtails this go around. Fans of Batman The Animated Series will recognize this look from the series, as it was her go-to hairstyle for much of the series and films. Including the fan-favorite “Harley’s Day Out” and the recent Batman and Harley animated film.

Birds of Prey will arrive on February 7th, 2020.
