GameStop took to Twitter today to announce that they have oversold their stock of limited edition Kingdom Hearts III PlayStation 4 Pro units. As a result, they have begun to cancel customer pre-orders. As an apology offering, GameStop noted that anyone who has their pre-orders canceled will receive a free $25 gift certificate.
You can see the original Tweet below:
Due to an error, we oversold on pre-orders for the LE Kingdom Hearts 3 PlayStation 4 Pro and, unfortunately, some orders had to be canceled. Guests who had an order canceled will receive a $25 Gift Coupon. We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused.

GameStop did not state how many pre-orders have been canceled, though. Needless to say, the announcement didn’t sit well with customers as they took to social media to voice their disdain. Not even a $25 gift certificate meant much after waiting nearly 20 years for Kingdom Hearts III only to have a limited edition console denied to them.
This isn’t the first time a retailer had to cancel pre-orders and it most certainly won’t be the last.
