Leo! Leo!
Zone of the Enders, Konami’s ill-fated space opera meets mecha and blows up everything is getting a remake on the PS4 and PC. But you knew that, right? But did you know that a new demo for the game is being released today? Yep, a new demo for Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner M∀RS is on the way.
This new demo will replace the previous demo, however, at the time of this article, I didn’t see it on the US PS store. No word on when we can expect it, but it will be released today. Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner follows the events of the first title. Pilot Dingo Egret encounters the Orbital Frame, Jehuty, which was hidden by the original pilot, Leo Stenbuck. Forced to fight an upcoming military force, Dingo climbs about Jehuty and defeats them all but one. The sister unit to Jehuty, Anubis. Left for dead and later revived, Dingo is placed back into Jehuty who becomes his life support. If he leaves, he dies. Of course, he’s not too thrilled about the recent chain of events and he wants revenge.
Remember when I said that ZOE was a space opera? I wasn’t kidding. I loved this game on the PS2 and I still own the Zone of the Enders HD Collection that was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. I’ll be picking this up as well when it’s released.
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner M∀RS releases this September 2018 for the PS4, and PC. This remake bumps up the resolution to 4K, adds VR support for PSV. In addition to that, the game has received a complete sound makeover and now supports surround sound. Gotta remember, 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound wasn’t as popular during the days of the PlayStation 2.
I can not wait for the full game.
