When EA and Dice announced Battlefield V, it did so around the time that popular Battle Royale games were dominating the hearts of gamers.
This led to many questions directed towards EA and Dice, on if a Battle Royale mode would be included in BFV. At the time, the company wasn’t ready to say if the game would include BR or not. Of course, this changed when E3 2018 rolled around and the official Battlefield V twitter account did send out the following message;
Royale is coming to #Battlefield V, reimagined with the core pillars of destruction, team play, and vehicles. It will be unlike anything you’ve played before, and we’ll have more to talk about later this year.

So, yes. Battlefield V was getting a BR game of sorts. According to EA and Dice, it would be different than what we’re used to right now. It would be after the launch of the game. No more speculation on this, now everyone could move on.
Fast forward to today, as a new trailer just in time for Gamescom 2018 was released. In it, we saw the Rotterdam Map, littered with explosions and lots of other exciting tidbits. But what had drawn the attention of many gamers is the final seconds of the trailer. This segment featured a loud ring of fire that was rapidly engulfing characters who were stuck in the middle.
For those familiar with BR games, this looks like the final round found in many games. Games such as PUBG, Fortnite, and Realm Royale. It definitely looks like a BR mode to me, what about you?
We’ll find out later next week, as Gamescom 2018 starts on August 21 runs until the 25th. EA will be on hand with BFV and we’ll know more about this new game mode and more.
Battlefield V is set to be released on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 19.
