Netflix’s Mindhunter tells the thrilling tale of how the FBI first began investigating and studying serial killers with the Behavioral Science Unit. In that season, we met killers Ed Kemper, Richard Speck, Montie Rissell, and Jeffrey Brudos. But if you know anything about the history of true crime, you know there are plenty more killers to go through, and now we know which.
We’ve got some heavy-hitters this round include Charles Manson and David “Son of Sam” Berkowitz. Manson (who recently passed away in real life) needs no introduction, but Berkowitz was a NYC killer who killed woman because, in his own words, he was commanded to do so by a neighbor’s dog. That’ll be an interesting episode for sure. Other famous killers to make an appearance include Elmer Wayne Henley, William Pierce Jr., William Henry Hance (“the Stocking Strangler”), and Paul Bateson.
The main cast will be returning to their roles, like Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany as FBI agents and BSU founders Holden Ford and Bill Tench. Acclaimed filmmaker David Fincher, one of the show’s executive producers, will be directing two episodes. Andrew Dominik will be directing another two episodes, and Carl Franklin will take the remaining four.
Mindhunter Season 2 is set to come out to sometime in 2019.
