HDR PS4 support is finally here
When Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was originally released on the PS4, it didn’t support HDR. That was alright, as Ninja Theory has stated that it would be patched in eventually. Then when the game saw a release Xbox One with HDR support included at the start. That really didn’t sit right with PS4 owners. But the final kicker was when Microsoft acquired Ninja Theory a few months ago.
Once this happened, the rumor mill started and people assumed HDR simply wasn’t coming to the PS4. Thankfully, that wasn’t true at all. In fact, Ninja Theory released a new update, 1.03, that finally patches HDR for the PS4.
You can now play #Hellblade in glorious HDR on #PlayStation 4! Patch 1.03 is now live with HDR support & various bug fixes – including a fix for the ‘NY’ Gate bug. pic.twitter.com/B9aZ0sfH1Z

In addition to adding HDR support, this update also addressing the “NY Gate bug“. For those unfamiliar with this glitch, it was a bug that prohibited gamers from opening the first gate they encountered in the gate. Even if they had the proper runes to open it. The frame pacing issue has also been addressed, meaning the framerate is more consistent. It’s definitely a new nice way to show the PlayStation audience that the company still cares. Even if they’re owned by Microsoft now.
Speaking of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, if you haven’t played the game by now. Well, you need to. It’s available on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s an amazing journey, a hell of a game and one that also promotes the need for mental health. Something that many people still don’t take seriously enough.
