It was previously announced that the ANiUTA anime song streaming service was set to launch in the United States in August but no other details about the service were given at that time… until now!
ANiUTa announced that the service will launch on August 1! The service will be available on Android and iOS mobile devices and will have, roughly, 10,000 songs available to stream at launch with more being added over time. In addition to the launch date, pricing has also been announced. It will run you $4.99 a month, which is less than what people are paying for the service in Japan where it runs 600 Yen or about $5.39 a month. There was a disclaimer that the price may change based on exchange rates so it is a bit of a disappointment that the price is not going to be a flat rate all the time.
Users can have a maximum of 1,000 songs in their library and can stream the music up to 320kb in quality. A free version of the service is available; however, users can only search for songs and listen to 30-second clips of the music. Song storage is also drastically reduced as free users can only store 20 clips in their library.
