If the following tweet from American Horror Story showrunner Ryan Murphy is anything to go by, we’re definitely getting a new season of the series later this year:

For those who haven’t been following, Season eight of American Horror Story was largely rumored to be a cross between Murder House (the first season,) and Coven (the third.) As reported by Den of Geek, Ryan Murphy, in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, stated that legendary actress Joan Collins (Dynasty) is in talks join the next season of American Horror Story. Anjelica Huston has also been in Murphy’s peripherals according to the show runner, however, those negotiatons seem not to have taken place as of this article’s writing.
It is expected that some American Horror Story mainstays will return for this eighth season, most particularly Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, the latter of which will be playing a more “comedic” role in this season. Also coming to AHS8 is Kathy Bates, who Ryan Murphy seemingly has some awesome plans for according to his interview with Entertainment Weekly:
“Kathy and Sarah Paulson have a lot of great stuff to get to do. So, with Evan Peters, the three of them are the leads this year.”
If last year was any indication, expect an announcement of the official title of the show, as well as a release date in mid-July during San Diego Comic-Con.
